Good Times

This month has been really fun. There have been reunions with old friends, concerts, games, etc. Its been chalk full of activities.

Tom and I went to the jazz game with his brother (Abe) and his dad. Abe fell asleep...how? I dunno. It was pretty loud. :)
At the Myan with Jenny and Drew and their new baby, Kaden.
Tanya (right) and I had a little reunion with some friends from elementary school. {From left: Cambria, Ashley, me, and Tanya}

Easter Weekend + Creepy Crawlies

Easter Weekend=Lots O' Fun! Mae looked so cute in her easter dress (which daddy picked out and bought all by himself!) We had a delish easter dinner at the Johnsons , and then headed over to my parents for an easter egg hunt. Caitlyn and Mae were so cute running around together.

What a cutie!
Aubs and Deddy looking oh so excited!

My cute father in law washing the dishes.
Daddy, Great Grandma Johnson, and Mae playing "wheres your nose?"
Our little Mae running around in her diaper.
I promise I was having fun. I think I just ate one too many chocolates.
A couple of weeks ago, Tom and I were at Target and I saw this alarm clock. Its a disney princess castle, and the alarm is the scene from Cinderella, when she sings "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" and then when the mousies are helping her get ready for the day. I was jumping around in the aisle like a little kid and begging to get it. Tom said "not today" hee hee So he bought it for me for easter, set it for 8am, and hid it in a bag underneath the desk. It was so exciting to wake up to it! And Mae LOVES it. It also has a little projector on top that projects stars on the ceiling. I'm such a 12 year old.

I took some photographs of Tom shining the stars on his face. I thought this one turned out neat-o.
I found this fine fellow in my shower. He's missing some legs because I tried to catch him in a cup. oopsie. I am terrified of spiders/crickets/cockroaches etc. etc. and I'm not looking forward to this summer, because these guys are all OVER the basement.I have to do a spider check every time I get in the shower. Hopefully we'll be moving out soon!

Updaters

I have been really busy the last couple of days and haven't really posted. Thanks for all of your comments!
Lots of stuff going on...Tom and I are looking for apartments in Provo. As some of you know, Tom is going to get his MBA, and has had schools literally begging him to attend. BYU gave him a full scholarship for the first year, so we're thinking that will be our plan. Back to Provo we go! That's where we started our marriage, and it was pretty fun :) I'll also be close to my sister (horray!) my Aunt and cousins (horrah!) and some pals (haroo!) and not too far from SLC where my family and Tom's fam resides. Good stuff.
I recently got my lenses changed in my glasses from "computer" glasses to "everything far away is blurry" glasses. My eyes have gone from 20/20 to 20/30. I used to pride myself on my impeccable vision, and now thanks to the many hours spent on the computer playing with photoshop and such, my eyes are pooping out on me. The funny thing is, a month ago I was telling my sisters and Tom how I wouldn't mind if I could wear my glasses more often then just when I'm on the computer, because the frames are so stinkin' cute. I jinxed myself. Now I just need to say "I wish we would win a million dollars" and maybe it'll happen? Prolly not.
As far as the "Self Challenge" goes, I'm still doing it. Its fun and super easy. I deleted my blog dedicated to it, but I will post my progress on this one. Becca, you asked about my before and after pictures? I think I'll post them once I'm all done with the challenge. I'm a little nervous to do so, but golly darny doo, I'm going to do it.
Here is my art for the day:

I made this frame for my dad for Fathers day a couple of years back. Its a frame representing what my dads about, his likes, quotes often said, etc. I find that when I'm creating something for someone I love, its more fun than just doing something just to do it, yo. And no, the word "daddy" isn't spelled wrong. I call my dad "deddy" and he luffs it. HAWLO, DEDDY!
The End

Portraiture Fun

You can tell I'm running out of stuff to post. I have to dig my art discs out. Those are chalk full o past projects. Anyways, this is a quick portrait I did of a girl in my class. We did this for about a week. It was fun drawing someone you barely knew, and then see their reaction to it. This girl wanted a copy of hers.

First Oil Painting

Nothing too special, just the first oil painting I ever did. You can tell by the subject that it was at a community college oil class. We had some random still life subjects.

baby baby baby

This is the pregnancy journal I made for myself when I got pregnant with little Mae. It was fun to fill out each month with baby stats, my weight and my symptoms, pictures of my growing belly, nursery decor ideas, cravings, and more! I want to try to do one for each of my kiddies.
(I can't find a better picture, although I KNOW I have one. The bottom part is cut off, but it says "nine months". )

Reunion!

{Chelsea Cram (married name? I dunno!) Me, Lindsey Crosland Rawlings}
::::::::::::::

Lately, I have been running into SO many friends from my childhood/school days, either in "real life" or on the internet (Facebook and myspace are perfect for getting back in contact with old pals). These lovely girls were my buddies in high school, then we all headed off to Dixie College (St. George, UT) after graduation. Lindsey (the lovely red-head) was my roomie, and we had a blast singing Celine Dion music at the top of our lungs, going on fun (NOT) dates, eating an entire chocolate pie at Frontier Pies by ourselves, splashing in the gutters when they flooded over from the rain, hanging with our pot smoking roommates, and on and on. Those were the days! We went to Olive Garden and ended up chatting for almost 3 1/2 hours. It was sooo much fun! I'm one of those people that wishes she could keep all of her friends forever. Friends are so important to me, so when I get to catch up with someone I haven't seen in a long time, my leetle heart is as happy as can be.
I have yet ANOTHER little reunion with some friends from elementary school this Saturday. What a fun week!

The Lovely Miss Tonya

{::Every girl should feel glamorous::}

Tonya asked me to take some glamorous shots, so I took her to this cool little alley and shot about a million pictures! It was fun, and Tonya worked it. Perfect client!

Baby Mine

I love little ones! They are so sweet and soft and alway smell yummy. (well...most of the time). Below are a few of my favorite pictures I have taken for friends. (And myself).

This is the lovely Miss Mae Veon. I am the lucky mother of this beauty.

Olivia Rae Miller. Doesn't she look like a 50's cupie doll? Beautiful! Her mommy is my dear friend Becca.

And last but not least, little Olivia Mae. This girl has the cutest smile I've ever seen. Her mommy, Tanya, has been my best friend since 6th grade.

:::Have a magnificent WeDnEsDaY:::

Elmo Loves You

As many of you know, I am a huge Muppets and Sesame Street fan. When I was a counselor up at Brighton Camp my nickname was *Elmo*. I can't help it. The little guy is just so cute and really funny!
I used to collect all of the Muppet/Sesame Street dolls plus I have a bunch of the talking Elmo dolls. It got too expensive to keep up with. This is the latest one and I think its hilarious, especially the Pizza. Listen to his laugh at the end, its totally goofy!

Oh, and there is a really cute "Tickle Me Elmo" online that Mae and I love to play with. Elmo pops up in a little screen, and you can tickle him with your mouse and he'll randomly do carwheels and pull funny faces. If you have kids (or you're like me and you act like a kid and are easily entertained) here is the link.

Totally Tubular Tuesday

This is number two of the three illustrations for "The Awesome Robots" movie. The girl on the right is ME, and the man on the right is my brothers friend Channing. This was a fun scene to film :)

Monday Show-n-Tell

For a long time in high school I was really into doing these pen and ink collages. The one to the right was a gift for my big brother. It was done on canvas with Acrylics. Everything in it has something to do with Aaron. I need to do these again...they were fun!

Blog Swap!

I am taking part in my first blog swap and I'm really really excited. :) I LOVE getting packages in the mail, and I'm seriously devastated that snail mail is almost non-existant. If you want to take part, go here. Here is my daily diddy. Okay, I can't stand that word anymore, so I'm going to call it my "daily show-and-tell" I miss show-and-tell, don't you?
This is one of the three illustrations I did for my brothers movie "The Awesome Robots" which I also had a part in. Acting isn't my strong point, but it was fun! To see it, and other great movies by my big bro, go here.
-Have a Great WEEKEND!-
Its my 26th birthday tomorrow, so I'll be going to the aquarium, having a birthday date with my honey, and creating new works!

From this to that

This is my daily diddy. (That word is already getting annoying) The one below is a pen sketch I did while I was

bored. And then I thought, "that would make a pretty cool
oil painting." And it became the piece on the right. I have to say, that this is one of my favorite paintings I've done. After I was done painting it, I thought, "why the snail?" well...I like animals and little creatures. And I've been told that the girl looks like me. Its interesting, because most of my work has a meaning behind it, but I don't quite know what it is until I'm done and I have a chance to really look at it and analyze it. I believe that this painting is a representation of me, staring procrastination (snails=slow/lazy) in the face. which I felt I had been doing for a long time. I hadn't done anything artistic for awhile, and so this is me finally accepting that I was being a lazy bum and I needed to get to work. TA DA! I know...its so deep you can hardly wrap your brain around it.

Daily Diddy

Whats a diddy, anyways? Anybody? I just think its such a silly word, so I'm going to use it. When I say "Daily Diddy" What I mean by that is not a daily poem, or a daily joke, nor a daily recipe for different ways to use a lemon. NAY. It means that I will be posting a daily sketch, photography, painting, illustration, etc. (i.e. my art). I have been feeling soooo creative lately, but I have no idea where to even start. Anyone ever feel that way? You have this great desire and yearning to create things, but you have so many ideas in your head, you can't decide which one will be the best to begin with. Its a rough life, being an arteest. Truly. But I thought, "HEY! Maybe if I post something daily that I've created, I will be more inclined to start doing something, even if its just a sketch of a rhino playing cards with Bill Cosby. (EH?)
So there it is, folks. My new goal (yes...I have a million of them)

My "diddy" for the day is this lovely scrapbook/journal I made for a friends baby shower. I've made a few of these and will post them on a later date.

Now for my latest etsy loves. Click on the image to go to their shops.
This first one is...well gosh dangit, its fabulous! This lady (I'm assuming) is so creative. Check out her other jewelry. This one is a tamer style. There are a lot of really funky pieces! Love it. Need it. Want it.

When I saw this I thought, "I have GOT to have it!" Sadly, it was sold. I cried a billion tears and screamed and punched pillows. Then I calmed myself and decided I wanted whoever bought it to enjoy it to the fullest, and I was happy for them. So to those people: "GOOD RIDDANCE!" JAY KAY.

Next up on our marvelous etsy finds is this adorable, antique message board. It would look lovely in Mae's room. I would pin little vintage post cards on it and write my little one love notes. Splendiferous!

"Now its time to say goodbye, to all our company...em eye see (see ya real soon!) kay eeh why (why? because we like you!) em oh you ess eeeeeeeeeh!"
