Fox NUMBA 2

An illustration I just finished up for a baby named...ready?....Fox Elliot. EPIC. I sent this and a box of wraps to the new mommy, Kathleen Shannon of www.andkathleen.com. She is one badass woman.

Beach Baby

Renee commissioned me to do an illustration of her daughter. She wanted a silhouette on the beach at sunset, with her little girl holding a surf board, and she requested some obvious diaperage and the Volcom logo on the swimming suit. I thought the idea was so cute!

Once again, let me just complain about my crappy scanner:
BOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Wait..hold the phone...HOLD. THE. PHONE.  I just realized my scanner is a filthy mess. Maybe if I would just pull out some Windex once in awhile my pictures wouldn't look like I smeared boogers on them. Mystery solved, case closed, amen. I'm sorry, leetle scanner, for hurting your feelbads. You have been there for me through thick and thin. I'll give you a nice wipe down and I'll even use my good rags. *pat pat

1 Year

Welp, he did it. My little boy turned 1. The big ONE. Do you see that face? I mean, c'mon! You can't get much cuter than that!

At 1 years old, Sawyer is still crawling around, and he's perfectly happy to do so. Oh...he walks. He just chooses not to. Crawling is so much faster. He likes to trick us. The other day I turned around and he was walking halfway across the playroom while I sat there with my jaw on the ground. I, of course, couldn't praise him or get excited because it's his little secret and he thinks we have no clue. Silly goose.

Sawyer says dada, mama, hi, and kitty cat. To hear him say "kitty cat" is hilarious. He whispers it and annunciates every letter. I've tried getting it on camera, but you know how it goes. Once the camera is on, the show is over.

Now that Mae is in school for 7 hours out of the day, it's just me and my little pal, bumming around. He is perfectly content to play on the floor while I get quality time in the art studio, clean, and cook. He's just so easy going!

I love you, Soy Sauce.

11 Months

Do you ever look at your kids and go,"Growing up?! Who do you think you are? Knock that off!" I know it is totally cliche too say, but it DOES go by fast. All this getting bigger is killing me. But at the same time, it's so amazingly awesome too. Because my kids just keep getting cooler every day. Even though they are only 5 and ALMOST 1, I still get sad and think about the fact that one day they will leave me and won't need me as much as they do now. BOO. But such is the reality of life. It just makes me remember to enjoy each and every moment. (Hard to do sometimes when the 5 year old is pulling major attitude, but I still try, even then.)

Sawyer,
You are almost 1. I honestly feel like I just gave birth to you. You are the sweetest most loving little boy EVER. You love to snuggle and put your face up to other faces and just stare into everyones eyes. I feel like you are an old soul, like you know more than everyone else. I can see it in your little smile. Okay, big smile. You have a huge grin and everyone notices it. You are STILL the happiest baby on the block. Keep that up, my boy!

You are just a nut. You know how to make us laugh, and you know you're doing it. Mae was the same way. You both came out of the womb trying to make everyone laugh.  Both of you had a sense of humor at such an early age!

You've been saying Dada forEVER, and lately Mama has been making it's way into your vocabulary, and it's music to my ears. You've been able to say it for awhile, but I swear you're teasing me. You stinker.

You've been standing up for awhile now, but have yet to take steps. You stand up, look really pleased with yourself as we all applaud, but then you plop back down on your rumpus and go about your business. I know you can do it, you just don't feel like it yet.

We love you!

Butta?

My daughter Mae (5) was looking at my son Sawyer (8 months) and said:

"Sawyer is so small, huh? He's kinda like a big stick of butter, huh? He's kinda like a big stick of butter that moves, huh?"

BA HA!

its wicket, ya'll

Finally took some pictures of Sawyer in his Wicket costume.
I'm pretty sure he's the cutest Ewok. EVER.
And once again, I must declare my undying love for my mom who crafted this fine work of art for my little guy.

ha ha! I love this one!

And thanks to Tom for being Sawyers tripod
