Out of the mouth of Mae
Mae said this morning: "I smell something stinky that stinks so smelly."

Funny
The other night Mae was in the bathtub. I was in the other room and yelled to her,"Take your rubberband out". I was busy doing other things and she kept yelling at me to come in and help her, she was waiting, etc. I was annoyed that she was refusing to take the rubber band out herself. Well, I go in and she's got her head down by her feet and her butt in the air, hanging over the edge of the bathtub. She goes,"MOM! I'm tired of waiting!" I asked her what in the world she was doing and she said,"You told me to stick my butt out!" I guess across the house "Take your rubber band out" sounds like,"Stick your butt out".

sweetie pie
This is how rad my 5 year old is: I was stressed about homework and just tired from being up since 5:30. So I sit down to do my homework, and next thing I know, she's bringing me a glass of ice water and a syrup sandwich (bread with syrup spread on it. hee hee). Then she keeps telling me "Let me know if you need a refill". Then five minutes later, I look up and she's cleaning out the dishwasher. No one asked her to do any of this. What a sweetheart. I mean...seriously. I love her. She has such a big heart.

Butta?
My daughter Mae (5) was looking at my son Sawyer (8 months) and said:
"Sawyer is so small, huh? He's kinda like a big stick of butter, huh? He's kinda like a big stick of butter that moves, huh?"
BA HA!

there's no place like home
Mae wore my Dorothy costume this Halloween.
My mom made it for me when I was 4.
The only thing that is different is the shoes.
Back then glitter shoes were not a common thing, so my mom got plain Mary Janes and glittered them herself.
You have no idea how cool everyone thought I was because of those shoes.
(Thanks, mom!)
I wore this costume 2 years in a row.
I have a picture somewhere, but I don't know where to even start looking.

a picnic WHERE?
This morning Mae informed me she wanted to shrink down really small, hike up my arm, and have a picnic lunch on my boob.

I told her soon enough Sawyer would be having constant picnics on my boob and her time had already passed.

hello kitty ride
Mae saved up for a little over two months to buy herself a bike! She was so good at doing extra chores and saving her pennies. There were many times where she wanted to buy a toy at the store and she decided not to so she could buy her bike. What a big girl! We are very proud of her.

"I'm very, very old!"
Mae is constantly coming up with the funniest stuff. She makes me laugh all of the time. I heard her doing this "old man" voice and had to grab the camera. She reminds me of the dude from "The Godfather".

Sillies For Mae
I had to work Valentines Day, and as I was standing around waiting for my tables food, I grabbed some receipt paper and drew this little cartoon for Mae.
She loved it and asked me to "read" it over and over, so it has since become a tradition.
Here are some others:
Mae becoming a butterfly.
A sad monsters mood is uplifted.
I think these will become a fun scrapbook page :)

Hula and Carnival
I already posted the video, so here are the photos from Maes hula performance at the Candeo Carnival. It was so much fun! there were a ton of old school carnival rides. Its been a dream of mine to go on a ferris wheel since I was little. I think I was inspired by "State Fair". I've had plenty of chances, but I wanted to go on an original, a vintage. My dream came true and it was awesome!
What a beauty, right? GEEZ!
Mae LOVED the ferris wheel! (And every other ride)
I was actually scared at some parts and she was just leaning over the bar and waving at daddy while I was panicking about her going over the edge.
I thought for sure she'd flip out when the cars would rock a little bit, but no, she just thought it made it all the more exciting!
Giving daddy some skin!
Every time this swung back my heart would leap out of my chest because Mae's little bum would fly off the seat a little bit and I thought she might slip out! She was having a blast though!
creep monkey holding a....lobster???!!!
