GARSH!

We just got back from Disneyland and MAN! I have one bad case of the grouchies. I really need to take my grumpy pants off. I don't know if its getting back from such a fun trip and having all of my responsibilities smack me in the face, or if my recent prozac free diet is giving me a swift kick in the pants, but I don't even want to be around me. Instead of drawing runaway facial hair maybe I should start drawing me, running away screaming from myself. (did you get that?)
It's time to buck up and get myself back into the game. Time to stop feeling sorry for myself and "keep moving forward", as Walt Disney advises. (If Walt told me the secret to happiness was growing out my armpit hair and braiding it, I would do it. You Rock Waltster!)

So I'm starting this up tomorrow. I really need it. I have been slacking so much and I can feel it in my waistline and more importantly, my overall psyche.
Going to focus more on this (isn't it crazy that sometimes the things that make us the happiest are the things we are the laziest about?)
And keep drawing, even if no one else notices. After all, when it comes down to it, I do art for me, not to gain attention from others. Although, it would be nice to have some "fans" or maybe a customer or two....

The big 3-0

Did I mention what a big week this is? Did I mention the BIGGEST reason?
Well, here it is: My husband turned 30 today. 30, people. We got married when he was 23. Where have the years gone?

Tomaroo:
You are the best husband a girl could ask for. You are my best friend. You make me laugh so hard I can hardly breath. I adore watching you with Mae. You are smart and talented and handsome and sexy and just a beautiful person.

Happy Birthday!
i love you sooo much

I think I'm ready

This week is going to be a big one.

1st, I'm trying to get all my prints for The Mae Boutique packaged and priced and ready to drop off.

{here are some new additions}

2nd, I have a lot to catch up on in my job as a VA for the lovely Lisa J. Peck

and 3rd, we are going to our favorite place on earth for Thanksgiving with some of our best friends.

A good week, but a busy one!

What are YOU doing this week?

New Moon

Saw this tonight
1st time I read the series: Totally "Team Edward"
2nd time reading them: I was edging towards "Team Jacob"
After seeing the new movie? All I have to say is: "Bella, you're an idiot. Choose the werewolf."

tis grand

Some things I am looking forward to

Selling my art at The Mae Boutique (I know! How cool is the name?! It was meant to be, I tell you)

Singing three solos all in December! I get the opportunity to sing "Marys Lullaby" at our wards Back To Bethlehem program, sing in sacrament meeting the next day, and then sing "El-Shaddai" at my in-laws Christmas party. I love Christmas music!

Trip to Utah for the holidays. I have visions of late night talks/laughing fests with friends and family, movies, rock band, board games, Temple Square lights, and snow! (I love that I get to come back to 80 degree weather:)

More illustrating, photo taking, memory making, watching Mae grow, snuggling with Tom, and hopefully adding to our family sometime soon. *wink wink*

maybe

I feel like good things are coming
Life is always good, no matter what trials we are facing
But lately, I just feel like there is so much to look forward to
Maybe it's because I have been doing a lot of art and that just makes me feel happy and whole
Or maybe it's because Tom's schooling is nearing an end and the anticipation of not knowing where we'll be in the next six months is exciting
Or perhaps it's because Mae just turned 3 and I'm amazed daily at her amazing little spirit and spunky personality

I don't know
But I am a happy girl
:)

Genius!

I came across this website the other day and will definitely be using it next time something goes wrong with our car! http://repairpal.com/
We have been lied to so many times about repair work that needs to be done on our car and ended up paying way too much for work we didn't even need. I always thought it would be nice to have a place you could go to where people would check out the problem and give you an HONEST answer on what really needs to be fixed.
First of all, at http://repairpal.com you can enter the problems your car is having and then they will give you an estimate on what needs to be fixed and about how much it should cost so you can compare pricing.
Second, it has an entire database of shops in the U.S. and all you have to do enter your info to find one near you.
Third, you can store all of your repair history and car info on the website.
So next time Fritz is well...on the fritz, I'll be heading over to http://repairpal.com before I go to any old car shop.

Stop me now!

Two business ventures in one day?! Its true. Looky!

This is halloween, this is halloween!

Can you guess who Mae was for Halloween?
Thats okay. Most people had no clue. Okay, NO one had a clue!
This year Mae wanted to be Coraline for Halloween. (If you haven't seen this movie, you have to make it a priority! Such a great flick!)
So here is our attempt. With limited resources (meaning money) I did the best I could.
Hair: Crappy temporary blue hair color
Rain Jacket: 69 cents rain poncho, which I hemmed because it was an adult size
Clip: Made by me
Boots: Green rainboots found at Ross (Doesn't ANYONE sell yellow rain boots??!) spray painted yellow

The buttons Coralines "other mother" wants to sew on her eyes. creeeepy....
