Deadpool Print!

Who's seen the new Deadpool movie? I loved it. I love comic book movies, but lately I've been tired of the same story over and over and over. Deadpool was awesome because it made fun of all of the cliche superhero movie aspects. Go see it!

I have a table at FanX and Phoenix Comic Con, so I painted up a little something specifically for those events.

If you won't be at those events, you can still get this print! Just email me at thecheekywhale@gmail.com and we'll get you hooked up.

For copyright purposes the picture above is not the print itself. The print is 11x17 on high quality photo paper.

$10 Custom Illustrations!

Hiya everybody!

It's been awhile since I posted on here. I'd like to make it a regular thing. I have a bunch of ideas for regular post's. One idea is to partner up with my stepdaughter on thrift fashion. Neither of us like to pay a ton for our wardrobe, and going to thrift stores and discount shops is super fun for super cheap. Whaddya think?

Today I started something pretty cool. I am now offering custom 5"X5" illustrations for just $10. I got a pretty great response and in my first day of offering it have been busy drawing to fulfill orders!

Here are just a couple:

These are one subject, one color. If you would like to get one for yourself or as a gift, please email me at thecheekywhale@gmail.com

Fox NUMBA 2

An illustration I just finished up for a baby named...ready?....Fox Elliot. EPIC. I sent this and a box of wraps to the new mommy, Kathleen Shannon of www.andkathleen.com. She is one badass woman.

The Joker

I've been working on my second ever digital painting. I am so excited about finishing it, but I thought would share it thus far:

The Joker is by far my favorite comic book villain! Especially after Heath Ledgers performance. Who is your favorite?

Newbie

I kinda sorta hate the idea of going digital. But these days you need the skills. I hated the idea of going digital with photography but I converted to it 7 years ago.
I downloaded the free version of Paper. It has limited colors, one pen style and an eraser. This is my first creation:

It has been really fun, not to mention a lot more convenient than traditional painting. I only have a regular stylus, so I am thinking about investing in a fine tip stylus and perhaps the full version of Paper.

An unfortunate loss

Recently my husbands Uncle passed away unexpectedly. It hit me pretty hard. I am close to his wife and daughters, and he and I talked quite a bit over the last six months about similar struggles. I will miss him.
I decided to paint a portrait of him and gave two prints to his daughters and the original will go to his mother.

Daily Click - Artsy Fartsy

My camera is being so mean to me right now. So todays photo is actually from a few months ago. This was taken one early morning when I was working on Betty and Veronica. It was a great morning, so I took my easel outside. Below are my concept sketches. You can see the done deal here. I still need to do Archie and Jughead....

I've been blogging for years and now I get paid to do it! Interested? Click here.
