40's Makeup

My sister and her husband attend a 40's dance every year here in Arizona. I'm dying to go next year. (Are you reading this, love of my life?)

My sister asked me to do her makeup, and I of course, jumped at the opportunity.

She is prime material for retro makeup. Full lips, round eyes, cute little nose, high cheekbones. She is seriously so beautiful!

This wouldn't be a Peterson photo shoot without something going up the nose....

mascara is a hard one. i admit, i'm a mascara snob.
my eyelashes are naturally long, but not very thick, so anything that promises to add volume is hard to resist.
my FAVORITE is LANCOME HYPNOSE DRAMA MASCARA in EXCESSIVE BLACK

along with the Lancome Primer

but unfortunately these days I don't have $60 to spend on the two. So I found a couple of others that I love almost just as much for a lot less.

Rimmel Glam Eyes Mascara is AWESOME

or....

my latest trick is combining one coat of:
Rimmel Extra Super Lash Mascara

and one coat of:
Maybelline The Falsies Volum'Express Mascara (I use waterproof).
